They say life is a journey, and apparently mine (as with many of you) came with a few detours I didn’t exactly ask for. I’ve survived Stage 4 cancer, a challenging mother-in-law, and more “everything in between” than I ever thought one woman could handle. And just when I thought I had earned a little time off, my daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Through it all, I’ve learned that strength doesn’t always roar…sometimes it wakes up in the morning, says a prayer, gets dressed and keeps going. My faith has been my anchor, persistence my superpower, and humor my much-needed coping mechanism. Because when life hands you the unexpected, you can either cry, laugh, pray, or, hopefully, do all three.

So yes, my tagline is “Surviving cancer, mothers-in-law, and everything in between!” It’s more than a tagline. It’s a little glimpse into a life that has tested me, humbled me, made me laugh when I probably shouldn’t have, and taught me that surviving is only part of the story. Sometimes, the real victory is finding the strength to keep living, loving, laughing, and showing up for whatever comes next.
